SWITCH Mobility has marked its entry into the private intercity electric mobility segment by flagging off the first batch of 10 EiV12m electric coaches for Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions. The deployment, inaugurated in the presence of Maharashtra Minister of State Madhuri Misal, will see the buses operate on the high-traffic Mumbai–Pune corridor.
This move is part of a larger order of 25 electric buses, with the remaining units to be delivered over the year. The partnership, supported by Vertelo, represents a significant step in expanding electric mobility beyond city limits into long-distance travel.
The EiV12m intercity coach is designed for long-haul operations, offering over 300 km range per charge, fast-charging capability and seating for 45 passengers. Equipped with advanced safety systems and connected technologies for real-time monitoring, the buses aim to deliver a quiet, efficient and comfortable travel experience.
