SMK, the premium helmet and riding gear brand from Studds Accessories Ltd. Has launched SMK Cygnus in India, alongside a host of new premium helmet models and its complete riding jacket collection. The showcase marked a significant step in SMK’s push to redefine premium motorcycling gear for Indian riders through advanced safety, innovation, and global design.
Unveiled earlier at EICMA, the new SMK premium lineup brings together enhanced protection, refined styling, and ergonomic comfort, catering to the growing community of riders upgrading to premium motorcycles and gear. Studds Accessories Ltd. is the world’s largest two-wheeler helmet manufacturer by volume in calendar year 2024, according to a CARE Report.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Sidhartha Bhushan Khurana, Managing Director, Studds Accessories Ltd., said India Bike Week reflects the evolving spirit of riding in the country. He noted that as demand for premium motorcycles and riding gear rises, SMK has remained focused on delivering high-quality design, advanced safety, and comfort across riding styles. The strong response at the event, he added, reinforces SMK’s growing preference as a premium helmet brand in India.
The highlight of the showcase was the SMK Cygnus, the brand’s most advanced helmet to date. Designed with a 180-degree rotating chin bar, Cygnus allows seamless switching between full-face and open-face modes, adapting to different riding postures—from upright cruising to aggressive sport riding. One of the few helmets in India with P/J certification, Cygnus combines an Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic (EIRT) shell with a multi-density EPS liner for improved impact absorption. Features include a wide anti-scratch visor with Pinlock® MaxVision 120, an integrated sun visor, efficient ventilation, a double D-ring fastening system, and a removable hypoallergenic liner. The helmet will be offered in two shell sizes, with sizes ranging from XS to XXXL, and is expected to retail between ₹17,000 and ₹20,000 when it launches fully in the coming months.
SMK also announced the India introduction of Ares and Nova, two globally appreciated performance helmets. Ares features a sporty design with a detachable sun peak and integrated sun visor, while Nova offers an eyeglass-friendly harness and an ultra-wide, optically corrected field of vision. Both models balance aerodynamics, safety, and comfort, with starting prices of ₹6,350 for Ares and ₹3,900 for Nova.
For urban commuters and touring riders, SMK added two new demi-jet helmets—the Delta City and Delta Tour. Delta City is aimed at everyday commuting, offering a lightweight EIRT shell, internal clear visor, moisture-wicking liner, and quick-release buckle. Delta Tour is designed for longer rides, featuring an external dual visor, contoured cheek pads, and speaker pockets compatible with Bluetooth systems. Prices for the Delta range start at ₹3,299.
Adding visual flair, SMK introduced fresh graphic themes across select models, including Agnar Cyborg, Typhoon Rival, Gullwing Sonic, and Stellar Sport Flight, drawing strong interest from riders seeking bold, expressive designs.
The brand also showcased its full riding jacket portfolio. Summer-focused jackets such as Infinity Rush and Gladiator combine mesh ventilation with removable waterproof liners, while the Apex Adventura caters to touring and winter riding with a waterproof and thermal setup, reflective panels, and an integrated hydration system. For women riders, the Athenova jacket offers winter-ready protection with ergonomic styling. All jackets are CE Level A certified and available in a wide range of sizes and colours.
