Participating in the Passenger Vehicle Expo 2.0 in Chennai for the first time, Sai Rubber Engineering is making strategic moves to expand its footprint in South India. The company, known for its wide portfolio of rubber-based solutions, is leveraging the platform to connect with OEMs, bus body builders and fleet operators in the region.
Explaining the motive behind their participation, Anil Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director of Sai Rubber Engineering, stated: “Our presence in North India has always been strong, but we realised that we haven’t focused enough on the South. This expo gives us an opportunity to bridge that gap and build new partnerships.”
Sai Rubber specialises in the manufacture of glass beadings, door beadings, and other OEM-grade rubber components used across various industries. “We provide OEM quality at competitive prices. Our products are already in use by companies like LPA and SPUR,” said Gupta, underlining the company’s positioning as a cost-effective yet high-quality player in the segment.
With three manufacturing units based in North Delhi and Faridabad, Sai Rubber boasts a robust daily production capacity of 10 tonnes. The company’s business is well-diversified, with 25% of its revenues each coming from the bus segment, industrial supply, and exports. “If you think rubber, think Sai Rubber. We cater to almost every rubber-related requirement across sectors,” Gupta remarked.

The CMD also highlighted the company’s strategic focus on mass production as a key differentiator: “By producing at scale, we bring down our process cost and pass on the pricing advantage to our customers.”
While OEMs remain a focus, Sai Rubber sees significant traction in the aftermarket space as well. According to Gupta, the aftermarket currently contributes more to the company’s business than direct OEM supply. The company is also actively exploring opportunities with major OEMs and bodybuilders in South India, including names like Ashok Leyland and MG.
On the opening day of the event, Gupta noted promising early interest from visitors. “We had meaningful interactions, including one with a customer from Guwahati who was aware of our brand but is now more inclined to engage after meeting face-to-face.”
With strong manufacturing capabilities and a clear regional growth agenda, Sai Rubber Engineering is positioning itself to be a key rubber solutions provider for the southern market.
