At Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, Profilm highlighted its growing Paint Protection Film (PPF) portfolio, with particular attention on its new range of coloured PPF. Aside from a strong gloss and matte portfolio, Profilm has introduced 48 colours as it continues to focus on product innovation in the premium PPF segment.
“We have a really exciting lineup, including our coloured PPF Solid range which has been really well received. Our focus is firmly on product and manufacturing innovation,” said Paul Rockey, Director, ProFilm
The company has expanded its manufacturing capabilities. Profilm currently operates two factories, one located in Suzhou and the other, in Ningbo.Profilm is head-quatered in Shanghai, with regional offices in Surrey, UK and Toyota City, Japan. They supply products directly to several OEMs and have recently expanded their presence in India, with Profilm products now approved and supplied to Mercedes-Benz India via the official dealership network.
Premium TPU and Top Coat Technology
Profilm’s PPF technology is built around the quality of the raw materials used in its films. The company identifies TPU as a key differentiator. Profilm has been recognised as a premium partner of Lubrizol, the inventor of TPU and leading manufacturer of this key component of PPF.
“Estane” TPU is laminated with pressure-sensitive adhesives and proprietary top coats, all designed to deliver long-term protection and an unrivalled finish.

“The selection of raw materials is a critical part of the durability and fittability of our products. As a Lubrizol Premium Partner, our products are audited for their authenticity and Lubrizol Estane TPU content. The real question for both installers and car owners is: what will the PPF look like after five or ten years? That’s where the quality of the TPU and other raw material become important,” he explained.
ProCut Patterning Software
To support installers, Profilm offers a strong software platform, ProCut. The system includes an extensive database of pre-cut patterns and is designed to provide a straightforward workflow for professional installers.
The team of pattern designers continuously work on expanding the vehicle database. If a required pattern is not available, partners can submit a direct request through the platform, and the request is immediately taken up by the ProCut Team. In most cases, patterns can be added within days.
Building a Stronger India Network
For its B2B expansion, Profilm places considerable emphasis on working with experienced local distributors who understand their respective markets. In India, the company has appointed SK Auto Smart Care, based in Mumbai, as its master distributor.
Paul emphasized that the partnership is supported by extensive product and installation training, with SK Auto Smart Care personnel receiving training both at Profilm’s UK Training Academy and at its Mumbai facility. Profilm has deployed technicians to India to support local training and build installation expertise.

Training and marketing support form an important part of Profilm’s distribution strategy. The company provides marketing collateral, digital content, website support and regular updates to help partners establish the brand in their respective markets. Watch out for a dedicated Profilm India website.
Profilm offers an unparalleled range of paint protection films aimed at different market requirements, with around 32 different types of gloss, matte and accent PPFs, as well as the recently launched 48 Solid colours. Warranty coverage varies across the portfolio, with the company’s premium products carrying warranties of up to 12 years, while more value-oriented products offer five and seven-year warranties.
Looking ahead, India represents an important growth market for the company. With a local distribution partner in place, Profilm is positioning itself to expand its presence across India’s growing automotive care and detailing ecosystem.
