At the Autopromotec 2025 expo in Italy, Domenico Romanelli, Product Manager for AM LED Retrofit at the ams OSRAM Group, highlighted the company’s strong presence in the automotive lighting sector, underlining Osram’s continued leadership and innovation. Known for its high-quality LED retrofit products, Osram’s cutting edge developments were front and center at the show.
“We are a global leader in the lighting industry, particularly in automotive lighting,” he said, emphasizing the company’s wide reach across all continents, from Europe to India, and its commitment to advancing automotive lighting technologies.
With an extensive portfolio of products, ranging from LED retrofit bulbs to car accessories like battery chargers and tire inflators, Osram is catering to diverse needs in the automotive market.
Innovative LED Solutions for Diverse Automotive Needs
Osram’s showcase at Autopromotec 2025 featured two main product categories in the LED space: the on-road bulbs and the off-road bulbs. “In the off-road category, we are displaying bulbs that are not yet homologated in Europe,” he explained. These specialized bulbs, designed for off-road use, are ideal for various outdoor conditions. “One standout product is our LEDriving HL ALLSEASON bulb, which adapts to varying weather conditions, such as fog, snow, or rain,” he elaborated.
The LEDriving HL ALLSEASON bulb offers a warm light color, in contrast to the traditional 6000 Kelvin bulb, and it allows drivers to switch between different light temperatures with a simple plug-and-play mechanism, making it perfect for changing weather conditions.
“We’ve designed this product so that no additional circuit modifications or electrician work is required,” he noted. “It’s all about ease of use, especially in adverse weather conditions.”
World-First ECE Certified Homologated Bulbs
Among the most exciting developments Osram presented was its ECE-certified homologated bulbs, the NIGHT BREAKER LED SMART ECE H11 bulbs which are the first of their kind in the industry. “Osram is the first company worldwide to receive the ECE certification for automotive bulbs,” he said proudly. “This certification means our bulbs are officially approved for use on public roads, and they can be installed on all H11 headlights – no matter which car model- which is a significant milestone for us.”

The homologated bulbs are tailored to specific headlights, such as H11, allowing customers to easily replace their existing bulbs with new, legal, roadworthy lighting solutions. “We’re not just making bulbs; we are paving the way for safer and more efficient lighting systems on the road,” he added.
From Battery Care to Solar Chargers
In addition to LED lighting solutions, Osram presented a variety of aftermarket products designed for both end users and professionals. “Our range includes essential tools for garages, such as battery care products, tire inflators, and solar chargers,” he said. These products cater to a growing demand for accessories that enhance vehicle performance and convenience.
The solar chargers Osram showcased are especially innovative, as they allow drivers to charge their car batteries while on holiday or in remote areas without access to a traditional power supply. “These chargers are perfect for those who are far from a garage or need to maintain their vehicle’s battery while camping,” he explained.
Osram also displayed its inspection lights, a tool highly beneficial for garages and professionals. These versatile lights help workers perform detailed tasks under proper illumination, adding to the overall functionality of Osram’s diverse automotive portfolio.
With the unveiling of groundbreaking products like the ECE homologated bulbs and ALLSEASON LED solutions, Osram’s presence at Autopromotec 2025 underscored its ongoing innovation in automotive lighting. As the industry continues to evolve, Osram remains committed to delivering products that meet the needs of drivers and professionals alike. “We are very proud of our achievements and excited about the future,” he concluded. “Osram will continue to lead the way in automotive lighting for years to come.”
