MG Majestor Arrives at ₹41 Lakh

JSW MG Motor India has launched the MG Majestor, which it describes as India’s first D+ SUV — a segment above the standard full-size SUV class. The vehicle goes on sale in two variants: the 4×2 Automatic, available in six- and seven-seater configurations, priced at ₹40.99 lakh ex-showroom, and the 4×4 Automatic, a seven-seater only, priced at ₹44.99 lakh ex-showroom. Both are top-trim variants.

Under the bonnet sits a twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The 4WD variant comes with an intelligent all-wheel drive system that runs in two-wheel drive under normal conditions and automatically shifts to four-wheel drive when traction is lost — useful in rain, snow, or off-road situations. It also offers 10 dedicated off-road driving modes.

The Majestor is the first in its segment to offer front, rear, and centre differential locks — a trio of features that allow the vehicle to recover traction even when multiple wheels lose grip. Add to that a 219 mm ground clearance, an 810 mm water wading capacity, and a Crawl Control mode, and MG’s off-road claims are backed by a credible list of hardware.

The vehicle is also notably large. At 5,046 mm long and riding on a 2,950 mm wheelbase, it is a big car by any measure — designed to offer genuine third-row usability rather than a token gesture at extra seating.

Inside, the cabin comes with ventilated and massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, dual 12.3-inch displays, 12 JBL speakers, dual wireless chargers, a 220V power outlet, and 64-colour ambient lighting. It also carries Level 2 ADAS — meaning it can assist with steering, braking, and acceleration — along with a 360-degree camera and the full suite of stability and traction control systems.

“The MG Majestor marks a bold addition to our portfolio as India’s first D+ SUV, delivering a powerful blend of performance, premium comfort, advanced technology and superior reliability,” said Mr. Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India.

On the ownership side, the Majestor comes with the MG Shield programme: a three-year unlimited kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance, and three labour-free services. MG also offers an assured buyback programme that guarantees up to 70% of the vehicle’s value. The car is available in four colours — Pearl White, Concrete Grey, Metal Black, and Metal Ash.
