Mahindra & Mahindra divests Sampo Rosenlew Oy to Turkey’s TERA Holding

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M), the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume, has entered into a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Tera Yatirim Teknoloji Holding Anonim Sirketi (TERA) of Turkey to sell its entire stake in Sampo Rosenlew Oy (Sampo), its wholly owned Finnish subsidiary.

Following the completion of the transaction, Sampo will cease to be a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra.

The divestment is in line with M&M’s strategy to sharpen its focus on businesses and markets that best support its long-term growth objectives. The company noted that Sampo has played a key role in strengthening its farm machinery capabilities, with several technologies developed by the Finnish manufacturer integrated into Mahindra’s own products.

By transitioning Sampo to new ownership, M&M aims to give the company greater freedom to pursue its own growth and innovation goals, while continuing to build on its strong legacy and expertise in the Finnish market.

Founded in 1853, Sampo Rosenlew Oy is known for producing high-quality combine harvesters and forestry machines. Headquartered in Pori, Finland, the company employs around 200 people and recorded net sales of approximately €41 million in 2024.
