Mahindra Farm Equipment Business, part of the Mahindra Group and the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume, has crossed a landmark production milestone of 70 lakh farm tractors — a significant step in the company’s journey of advancing farm mechanisation for millions of farmers in India and around the world.
Mahindra FEB develops and markets its products under the Mahindra Tractors and Swaraj Tractors brands, along with Gromax, the maker of the Trakstar and Hindustan range of tractors. The company offers one of the industry’s broadest portfolios with over 350 models and variants, complemented by a growing range of tractor-driven and self-propelled farm machinery.
Mahindra Tractors, founded in 1963, is India’s number one tractor brand, with manufacturing facilities across Mumbai, Nagpur, Zaheerabad, Rudrapur, Jaipur, and Rajkot, and R&D based in Chennai. Swaraj Tractors, formerly Punjab Tractors Ltd. and credited with developing India’s first indigenous tractor in 1974, is the country’s second largest tractor brand and one of its fastest growing over the past decade. Gromax Agri Equipment, a 60:40 joint venture between Mahindra and the Government of Gujarat, operates from Vadodara and is India’s leading regional tractor brand.
The milestone builds on strong recent momentum for the business, including record annual tractor sales of over 5,26,000 units in FY26, new launches such as the Mahindra 585 YUVO TECH+ V1, Mahindra NOVO Premium Edition, and Swaraj Protek, alongside the global expansion of Mahindra OJA across key markets. In FY27, the company plans to introduce seven new tractors and twelve new features spanning the Mahindra Tractor and Swaraj Protek ranges.
Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO, Auto and Farm Equipment Business, M&M Ltd., said, “As India progresses towards its vision of Viksit Bharat, transforming agriculture will remain central to nation-building. At Mahindra, we are proud to contribute to this journey, with our tractors strengthening rural communities and supporting long-term national development. The milestone of 70 lakh tractors is a proud moment for all of us, as we continue to build for the future.”
Mr. Veejay Nakra, President, Farm Equipment Business, M&M Ltd., said, “Beyond scale, this 70 lakh milestone reflects our deep commitment to farming and the enduring trust farmers have placed in our brands. That trust has been built over decades of delivering reliable, tough and productivity-driven tractors that stand by farmers through every season. It strengthens our resolve to transform the lives of farmers globally by making technology more accessible and relevant. As we look ahead, our growth will be shaped by evolving farmer needs, with a continued focus on advanced products, intelligent features, and solutions that deliver real value in the field.”
With a presence in over 50 markets, Mahindra FEB is the global leader in tractors by volume, with the United States as its second-largest market after India, supported by over three decades of presence and two assembly facilities there. The company is also developing Smart Agri Machinery solutions across the entire agricultural value chain, from land preparation to post-harvest, leveraging engineering excellence, digital integration, and deep farmer insights across its portfolio of farm equipment brands.
