JK Fenner’s strategic foray into EV components and ADAS solutions

In an exclusive interaction with Aftermarket & Service, Nagaraju Srirama, President & Director, JK Fenner (India) Limited, talks about his company’s stellar presence at ACMA Automechanika, exciting new products and an overall business update.

Participation at ACMA Automechanika

ACMA Automechanika is a very important show for the auto component industry. We are a supplier to both automotive OE and aftermarket, so this is a platform where we receive visitors from both groups. The show gives us an opportunity to have engaging interactions with them and also showcase our new products or ‘what’s cooking in our kitchen’ as some say. This is why we love to participate in this exhibition.

New Product Introductions

Initially Fenner used to have only belts and oil seals, today we have expanded our product range in a huge way by adding hoses, vibration mounts, mirrors, control cables, lubricants, filters, etc. In this show, we are launching new products for EVs – hub motor, mid motor, controller. Of course, these will first go for OEMs and then come to the aftermarket. We are also entering the vision system with our own cameras and ADAS products.

Target Audience at the Show

In the aftermarket, we are looking forward to meeting dealers and large garages. Dealers may not have physically seen our complete range of products under one roof. When dealers who deal with some of our products see our entire range of products here, it gives them confidence to add some more products to their offering. OE customers too get a touch and feel of our products which is quite important.

Biz Update

We are doing well both in OE and aftermarket. We are growing at a double-digit rate and hope to continue the same in the next financial year because India is the place for growth now. We are ensuring we are part of that growth.

As an industry, the passenger car segment is growing well so we are looking at supplying more to this space. In EVs, it’s more of 2-w and 3-w which is why we are adding new products to our existing range. For many of our EV customers, we are already a single source in 2-w segment which we are working on extending to 3-w and LCVs too.
