Jeep Compass Sport gets 9-speed automatic, priced at ₹21.99 lakh

Jeep India has launched the Compass Sport FWD with a 9-speed automatic transmission at ₹21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company says it is the most affordable automatic Jeep Compass ever offered in India. It is also the first time an automatic has been offered on the entry variant of the Compass line-up. Deliveries begin in the second week of November across Jeep dealerships and Stellantis Brand Houses.

The Compass Sport 9AT uses the 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel engine, which makes 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque. Jeep says the automatic gearbox is meant to make everyday driving smooth and effortless, as more buyers look for convenience.

Features include six airbags, Auto Hold, cruise control, a 21.3 cm Uconnect touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls and electrically adjustable mirrors. The car also gets Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) suspension for a composed ride and Dynamic Steering Torque (DST) for responsive handling.

Buyers can add an optional Accessory Pack at ₹29,900. It includes ambient lighting, a dashcam with predictive safety features, a Swoosh decal, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps.

The rest of the Compass range continues to offer manual and automatic gearboxes and 2WD and 4WD options.

“The Compass has always stood for authentic Jeep capability, distinctive design and a confident driving experience,” said Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director, Automotive Brands, Stellantis India. “With the introduction of the 9-speed automatic transmission in the Compass Sport, we are making that experience more accessible than ever before.”
