From High-Speed EV Bearings to Hydrogen Mobility: NBC’s Vision at BMGE 2025

At the BGME 2025 – Components Show, National Engineering Industries Limited (NBC Bearings) made an impressive impact by showcasing a range of innovative solutions tailored for diverse automotive segments. Lokesh Agrawal, CTO – R&D at NBC, highlighted their focus on customer-specific solutions and cutting-edge technologies.

“Our approach revolves around working closely with customers to deliver tailored solutions,” Lokesh shared. “It’s not just about bearings anymore; it’s about solutions that meet unique demands, whether for commercial vehicles, electric vehicles, or two-wheelers.
The exhibits featured advanced offerings like preset solutions for commercial vehicles, high-speed bearings for EVs, and sensor-enabled bearings for predictive maintenance. Lokesh emphasized the company’s strides in integrating modern features such as lightweight designs, advanced coatings, and innovative grease formulations. “For instance, our high-speed EV bearings can handle speeds three times higher than standard bearings, ensuring superior performance,” he explained.

NBC’s focus on diverse market requirements was evident. “From longer durability and reduced maintenance for commercial vehicles to compact, efficient solutions for EVs, our R&D efforts ensure optimal performance across segments,” Lokesh said. Their oil-impregnated ball cage assembly for two-wheelers, which self-lubricates under load, is a testament to this innovation.

The company’s commitment to sustainability also stood out. “We are aligning with ESG initiatives to minimize environmental impact, focusing on recyclable materials and friction reduction technologies,” Lokesh added. He highlighted ongoing research into bearings suited for hydrogen-powered vehicles, anticipating their role in the future of commercial mobility.

With a legacy of innovation and a vision for sustainable growth, NBC Bearings continues to lead the way in redefining automotive engineering.  “Our work begins at the drawing board with our customers, ensuring every product is optimized for their specific needs,” Lokesh concluded.
