Frigate Manufacturing, headquartered in Trichy, has emerged as a significant player in the automotive and manufacturing sectors, with a strong emphasis on innovation and local production. “Our tagline, ‘Manufacturing Made Easy,’ reflects our mission to facilitate global manufacturing from India,” said Muthu Raman, Digital Marketing at Frigate Manufacturing. The company, founded by Dr. Tamizh Inian along with Co-founders Karthikeyan Prakash, Chandrasekar C, and Iniyavan Vasanthan, focuses on addressing the challenges of manufacturing dependency on China by providing high-quality, locally produced components.
At the India Garage Expo, Frigate Manufacturing showcased its diverse range of products in the Auto Accessories and Aftermarket segment in the 2-Wheeler and 4-Wheeler segment including Utility Parts, Performance parts, and Consumables. ” We want to showcase our capability to contract manufacture automotive components at limited MOQs there by helping existing and new brands widen their product portfolio without having to invest in the engineering/manufacturing and hence supplement their revenue” Raman explained. The company aims to support startups by allowing orders starting from as few as small as 20 units with custom branding, thereby lowering the entry threshold for new automotive ventures.
Frigate Manufacturing prides itself on its unique approach to manufacturing. “We have developed a flexible tech platform that enables real-time updates and custom material procurement, which addresses the common issues of data visibility and transparency in order execution in the manufacturing segment,” Raman noted. This platform supports over 500 suppliers, allowing for a streamlined process of onboarding and quality control.
The company’s current market scenario is robust, with a growing presence both domestically and internationally. “Our business is performing well, and we are aggressively pursuing funding to further expand our reach,” Raman stated. Frigate Manufacturing is actively seeking CDCI funding and has a dedicated marketing team working from their Trichy office to boost their global footprint. The company is also expanding its operations with plans to establish a factory for heavy engineering and continues to serve notable clients such as L&T, MRF Tyres etc.
Looking ahead, Frigate Manufacturing has ambitious goals for the next financial year. “Our target is to reach INR 200 CR worth order book with 60% coming from export market ” Raman revealed. The company’s growth strategy includes scaling operations and increasing its market share in both existing and new verticals, such as MAAS Manufacturing As A Service– Both Mechanical and Electrical.
