Eicher Trucks & Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV), has inaugurated its first exclusive dealership for the newly launched Eicher Pro X range in Mumbai. Operated by AV Motors and strategically located in Bhindarpada, Thane, the state-of-the-art facility sets a new benchmark in small commercial vehicle (SCV) retailing with an omni-channel experience, advanced infrastructure, and a laser focus on sustainability. Designed as a born-digital outlet, the dealership integrates interactive digital displays, EV charging infrastructure, and a direct link to Eicher’s industry-first Uptime Centre – ensuring maximum vehicle availability and operational efficiency for transporters and fleet operators.

This dealership is not just another addition to Eicher’s network – it marks a decisive shift in strategy, aligning with the company’s long-term vision of reshaping last-mile logistics through electric mobility, digital transformation, and customer-first operations.
A New Chapter in Eicher’s Growth Story
“This exclusive dealership marks a milestone in our journey towards customer excellence,” stated SS Gill, Chief Commercial Officer, VECV, at the inauguration. “It is not merely the unveiling of a new facility but a manifestation of our commitment to shaping the future of last-mile logistics with the Eicher Pro X series.”

The motivation behind setting up an exclusive dealership for the Pro X range stems from a clear market opportunity. Vinod Aggarwal, MD and CEO of VECV, has emphasized the significance of the 2-3.5 ton SCV segment, which accounts for nearly 3.5 lakh units annually across India. This category is vital for any commercial vehicle player aiming to establish itself as a full-range brand. By tailoring its offerings to this high-volume, high-potential market, Eicher aims to accelerate its presence and relevance.
Purpose-Built Infrastructure for a Growing Market
Spanning a 2,160 sq ft showroom and an additional 940 sq ft of office space, AV Motors’ facility is thoughtfully planned to ensure an enhanced experience for buyers and operators. The showroom houses three modern meeting rooms, an interactive vehicle design console, and a prominent vehicle display area.
Behind the scenes, the dealership boasts a dedicated workshop equipped with service bays, a battery-changing unit, a spare parts counter, a customer lounge, and a dedicated EV charging port – all designed to support uptime and reduce vehicle turnaround time.
This robust infrastructure supports Eicher’s vision to offer a complete ownership and service lifecycle solution to SCV customers – a group that often relies on high vehicle utilization and cannot afford downtime.
Focused Entry into a Competitive Market
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) area has seen a sharp rise in demand for SCVs. The total industry volume in the 2-3.5 ton category exceeded 12,000 units in the last financial year, across all RTOs within the MMRDA. While Eicher is a relatively new entrant in this space, the company is aiming to grow faster than the market average.

Piyush Jain, CEO of AV Motors, explained, “The SCV customer has very specific needs. This dealership is built from the ground up to meet those needs with a tailored approach – distinct from traditional CV dealerships that serve a broader spectrum of vehicle types.”
People-First Operations Backed by Skill and Strategy
A defining feature of AV Motors’ approach is its specialized staffing model. The dealership has deployed over 10 customer engagement executives who operate in the field, ensuring quick and efficient support to fleet operators and small business owners alike.
Inside the showroom, CRM executives manage footfalls, while dedicated product experts assist with vehicle customization using the interactive design console. In addition, driver trainers are on hand to improve customer driving skills, and a trade-in support executive helps customers navigate exchange programs – a value-add often overlooked in the SCV segment.
This human-centric strategy is supported by regular training programs and operational excellence initiatives, helping AV Motors stay aligned with Eicher’s service promise.
Green Goals and Growth Targets
As sustainability takes center stage, Eicher and AV Motors are also looking beyond conventional diesel-powered trucks. “We are entering the 2-3.5 ton SCV segment with new electric vehicles, supporting our sustainability commitments and addressing the evolving market demand for green transport solutions,” said Jain.
AV Motors’ service network across the MMRDA region forms the backbone of this push. The dealership has established five major workshops in Panvel, Bhiwandi, Mira Road, Nalasopara, and Boisar, along with two customer service touchpoints in Wadala and Borivali. This widespread presence ensures that service and support are always within reach for customers, further boosting confidence in the Eicher Pro X product line.
Long-Term Vision with a Local Touch
AV Motors currently holds a 10% market share in the heavy-duty truck segment in the Mumbai region and aims to replicate its success in the SCV space. With the Pro X series, the dealership plans to expand its reach, increase customer base, and cater to both legacy clients and first-time vehicle owners. The addition of electric variants will open doors to new use cases, especially in urban logistics, e-commerce, and temperature-controlled deliveries.
“We are committed to growing faster than the industry average,” Jain emphasized. “Our strength lies not just in our product range but in our people, service network, and future-readiness.”
With a keen understanding of the evolving dynamics in urban transport and an unwavering focus on customer success, AV Motors and Eicher Trucks & Buses are all set to redefine the small commercial vehicle landscape in Mumbai and beyond.
