Yokohama India plans to add five new sizes to its locally made GEOLANDAR X-CV crossover tyre range, taking it from 32 to 37 sizes. The company says this will make GEOLANDAR X-CV India’s largest dedicated crossover tyre range. The move follows what it describes as a positive response to the range since its recent launch.
The new sizes will cover 16-inch to 20-inch wheels, extending the range across compact, mid-size and premium SUVs. Yokohama says this will give customers a wider choice of locally manufactured tyres and help it keep up with the growing variety of SUV models and fitment needs.
Mr. Harinder Singh, Managing Director, Yokohama India, said, “This expansion is a direct extension of our manufacturing strategy for India. The SUV segment is growing rapidly and diversifying across price points and vehicle types, and our production capabilities need to keep pace with that shift. Taking GEOLANDAR X-CV to 37 locally produced sizes strengthens our ability to serve this segment at scale and reinforces our position in the premium tyre category.”
The company says the addition is part of its continued effort to strengthen domestic manufacturing and localise a larger share of its product portfolio.
