Renault India has announced an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 29 km/litre for the new Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160 ahead of its market debut in India on October 17, 2026. Bookings open on October 9 for ₹21,000 through the company’s website and authorised dealerships.

The SUV features a strong-hybrid powertrain combining a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 160 PS. Its multi-mode transmission automatically manages power delivery between the engine and electric motors according to driving conditions.
The hybrid system can run on electric power under suitable conditions and recovers energy during braking and deceleration. The battery charges while driving and does not require an external charging connection.
Renault said the new Duster offers an alternative for customers considering diesel SUVs, combining performance with fuel efficiency. It will be the first E-Tech model introduced in India under the company’s futuREady roadmap, marking a step forward in its electrification strategy.
Mr. Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Renault Group India, said the model brings the company’s established E-Tech strong-hybrid technology from Europe to India, offering customers a combination of performance and fuel efficiency without the need for external charging.
The company will officially unveil the new Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160 in India on October 17, 2026.
