JS Four Wheel Elevating Customer Experience Through Continuous Upskilling

As mobility technologies evolve, knowledgeable teams, customer-centric engagement and continuous learning will become the defining strengths of successful dealerships.

India’s automotive retail industry is witnessing a rapid transformation as alternate fuel vehicles, digitally informed customers and advanced vehicle technologies reshape the dealership experience. While the transition towards cleaner mobility continues to gather momentum, dealerships will need to evolve beyond product selling by investing in people, training and customer engagement.

“The future belongs to dealerships that listen more, train continuously and deliver confidence through knowledge rather than simply selling vehicles.”

Mr. Nikunj Sanghi, Managing Director, JS Four Wheel Pvt. Ltd., believes the growing acceptance of alternate fuels such as CNG, flex fuel, LPG, hybrid and electric vehicles will be one of the biggest trends shaping the industry through 2030. With fossil fuel vehicles gradually giving way to cleaner alternatives, he expects commercial vehicle customers to increasingly adopt technologies that offer lower running costs and comply with evolving emission norms.

Mr. Sanghi observed that today’s customers are far better informed than ever before. Before entering a showroom, they have already researched vehicle specifications, compared competing models and reviewed expert opinions online. As a result, the role of a dealership consultant is shifting from explaining product features to validating customer research, addressing specific concerns and offering credible solutions.

“Customers no longer come to the showroom to discover features. They come to validate their research, which is why listening has become more important than talking,” shared Mr. Sanghi.

Recognising this shift, JS Four Wheel has made continuous learning a strategic priority. The company operates an in-house training and upskilling centre that functions throughout the year, providing structured learning programmes for both sales and service teams. Supported by daily digital learning modules from OEMs, consultants stay updated on evolving technologies, customer queries and product developments, ensuring they are equipped to deliver informed guidance and superior customer experiences.

Mr. Sanghi also highlighted that service operations are changing alongside vehicle technology. Improved product quality and longer warranty periods are reducing routine workshop visits, while remote diagnostics, firmware updates and digital technical support are enabling faster issue resolution. At the same time, dealerships are investing in recruiting and training technicians capable of handling advanced diagnostic tools and connected vehicle technologies.

Looking ahead, Mr. Sanghi believes continuous upskilling, customer-centric engagement and strong service capabilities will remain the foundation of dealership success as India’s automotive industry embraces cleaner mobility and increasingly sophisticated vehicle technologies.
