
The second day of Prawaas 5.0 was highlighted by the presentation of the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 by Shri Acharya Devvrat, Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, celebrating outstanding achievements across India’s public transport sector. The awards ceremony recognised organisations and individuals whose contributions continue to drive innovation, operational excellence and sustainable growth in passenger mobility.
The Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 honoured a total of 72 winners across two distinguished award platforms – the BOCI Excellence Awards and the redBus People’s Choice Awards. The BOCI Excellence Awards recognised 50 outstanding organisations and individuals across diverse industry categories, while the redBus People’s Choice Awards honoured 22 winners selected through public voting, celebrating excellence across India’s passenger transport ecosystem.
Presented with redBus as the Awards Partner, the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 were held in the presence of Shri Prakash Sangam, CEO, redBus. The awards recognised excellence across multiple categories, honouring transport operators, manufacturers, technology providers, innovators and industry leaders for their outstanding contributions to innovation, operational excellence, sustainability, safety and customer service. They also celebrated initiatives that continue to strengthen India’s passenger transport ecosystem.
Earlier in the day, the conference programme, co-hosted by AbhiBus, was inaugurated by Shri Aloke Bajpai, Group CEO, ixigo, and Dr. Rajender Kumar, Commissioner, Transport Department, Government of Gujarat. The inaugural session was also attended by Shri Prasanna Patwardhan, President, BOCI; Shri Jagdeo Singh Khalsa, Chairman, BOCI; and Shri Megjibhai Khetani, Chairman, Akhil Gujarat Pravasi Vahan Sanchalak Trust (AGPVST).
The conference features a comprehensive line-up of sessions covering Powering India’s Public Transport Transformation, Bus Policy Reforms, School Bus Electrification, Women in Mobility, Bus Electrification Challenges, Toll Policy Frameworks, Insurance, Operator Empowerment, Mobility Startups, The Future Mobility Stack, Captains of EV, and Operator Perspectives. The sessions bring together policymakers, industry leaders and transport operators to deliberate on the future of passenger mobility in India.

At the heart of Prawaas 5.0, India’s Largest Expo Showcasing the Future of Public Transport, Technologies & Services continued to attract strong participation from business visitors and industry stakeholders. The exhibition showcased innovations from OEMs, component manufacturers, aggregators, systems and accessories providers, EV manufacturers, energy storage and charging companies, smart mobility and fleet management solution providers, technology and digital solution providers, alternative fuel and lubricant companies, as well as start-ups and innovators. It offered a comprehensive platform to experience the latest products, technologies and services shaping the future of passenger transport.
As BOCI celebrates its 10th anniversary, Prawaas 5.0 proudly carries forward the spirit of “Desh Ki Raftaar” under the theme “Towards Safe, Smart & Sustainable Passenger Mobility”, reinforcing the vision of “Steering the Nation Towards Viksit Bharat”. Hosted by the Akhil Gujarat Pravasi Vahan Sanchalak Mahamandal, co-hosted by the Gujarat Luxury Cab Owners Association and the Gujarat Tourist Vehicles Operators Association, and curated by MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Pvt. Ltd., Prawaas 5.0 continues to strengthen India’s passenger transport ecosystem by enabling dialogue, fostering partnerships and driving innovation that will shape the future of mobility.
