Basemark, a provider of real-time graphics and augmented reality software solutions, has announced a strategic collaboration with KPIT Technologies to accelerate the development and large-scale deployment of next-generation multi-screen Human Machine Interface solutions for automotive OEMs.
As part of the collaboration, KPIT has joined Basemark’s Rocksolid ecosystem as its first certified partner — a milestone that strengthens the platform’s reach and gives automakers access to proven engineering expertise for delivering production-grade HMI programmes at scale.
As vehicles increasingly evolve into software-defined platforms, HMI is emerging as a critical differentiator for brand identity and customer experience. OEMs face mounting pressure to deliver immersive, context-aware, and highly customised interfaces while meeting stringent automotive requirements for safety, reliability, and performance — and scaling these systems across multiple vehicle platforms and display domains remains a significant industry challenge. The Basemark-KPIT collaboration is designed to directly address this gap.
Rocksolid provides a high-performance software platform for advanced HMI and augmented reality development, supporting modern workflows including AI-assisted creation, modification, and debugging of HMI assets. KPIT brings nearly two decades of automotive software engineering experience, having supported more than 20 million vehicles globally across infotainment, digital cockpits, connectivity, and embedded platforms. Together, the two companies will help OEMs reduce development risk and shorten the journey from HMI concept to series production, covering AR HUD, digital cockpit, and multi-display experiences.
