Renault India has commenced nationwide customer deliveries of the new Renault Duster, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s revival strategy in the country. The first delivery was carried out in Chennai, coinciding with the inauguration of a new ‘new’R’ urban retail store on Mount Road.
The start of deliveries comes on the back of strong sales performance, with Renault India reporting a 77% growth in March 2026, driven by models such as the Kiger and Triber, along with the renewed interest in the Duster.
The handover ceremony was attended by François Provost, CEO of Renault Group, and Stephane Deblaise, CEO of Renault Group in India, who personally delivered the first Duster to Dr. Arthanari Manickavasagam, a Chennai-based doctor. The event underlined the importance of the Duster’s comeback as a key product for Renault’s growth in India.
The newly inaugurated ‘new’R’ store reflects Renault’s evolving retail approach, focusing on immersive and customer-centric experiences. Spread across 4,500 sq. ft., the outlet includes a dedicated display and interaction zone capable of showcasing up to five vehicles, along with a dedicated delivery bay. Chennai now hosts two such stores, while the total number of ‘new’R’ outlets across India has reached 11. Renault plans to scale this format aggressively, targeting 70 outlets nationwide within the year, alongside its existing network of over 350 sales touchpoints.

The new Duster, which pioneered the mid-size SUV segment in India, continues to attract strong customer interest. Its reintroduction is part of Renault’s broader effort to strengthen its portfolio and regain momentum in the market. Supporting this is the Renault Forever program, offering extended coverage of up to seven years or 150,000 km, reinforcing the brand’s focus on long-term ownership value.
