JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. on Tuesday inaugurated Phase III of capacity expansion and modernisation at its Passenger Car Radial (PCR) manufacturing facility in Banmore, Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant step in its long-term domestic manufacturing strategy.

The expanded facility was inaugurated by Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, in the presence of Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, and Mr. Anshuman Singhania, Managing Director, JK Tyre, along with senior leadership from Maruti Suzuki India.
With the commissioning of Phase III, part of JK Tyre’s multi-phase investment programme of over ₹1,000 crore at Banmore, the plant’s capacity has increased to 30,000 passenger car radial tyres per day, or around 10.5 million tyres annually. The expansion reinforces JK Tyre’s focus on supporting India’s growing passenger vehicle market through scale, modernisation and technology-led manufacturing.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Singhania said the expansion reflects JK Tyre’s commitment to strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem and supporting the country’s mobility growth. He noted that Banmore has been central to the company’s passenger car radial journey, and the latest expansion enhances its ability to serve OEMs and consumers with high-quality, sustainable and future-ready products, while also contributing to industrial development and employment generation in Madhya Pradesh.
The Banmore facility continues to play a key role in regional economic development by supporting direct and indirect employment. It operates with a strong emphasis on sustainability, adopting energy-efficient processes and responsible manufacturing practices aligned with JK Tyre’s environmental and social goals. Beyond manufacturing, the plant has also contributed to community development in the region through initiatives spanning healthcare, adult literacy, livelihood support, rural development and the promotion of local sports.
