Maruti Suzuki Sets New Production Record with Over 22.5 Lakh Vehicles in 2025

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has achieved its highest-ever annual production, manufacturing over 22.55 lakh vehicles in calendar year 2025, marking a significant milestone in the company’s four-decade journey. This also makes it the second consecutive year in which Maruti Suzuki has crossed the 20-lakh production mark, underlining its strong manufacturing momentum and sustained demand across markets.

The record output includes vehicles produced for domestic sales, exports, and OEM supplies. During the year, the company’s top five models by production volume were the Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire and Ertiga, reflecting continued customer preference for Maruti Suzuki’s wide-ranging portfolio across segments.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the milestone was made possible by the commitment of employees and close collaboration with supplier partners. He noted that a high level of localisation has helped the company scale up production while maintaining global quality standards, showcasing the growing strength and competitiveness of India’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem. He added that Maruti Suzuki remains focused on expanding its manufacturing footprint and contributing to the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ vision.

Maruti Suzuki began its manufacturing operations in 1983 with its first plant in Gurugram, Haryana. Over the years, the company steadily expanded its production base, supported by a strong multi-tier supplier and dealer network. Its manufacturing facilities now span Gurugram, Manesar and Kharkhoda in Haryana, with the Gujarat plant recently amalgamated into its operations. Today, Maruti Suzuki produces 17 models and over 650 variants from these state-of-the-art facilities.

Looking ahead, the company plans to scale up its manufacturing capacity to 4 million units per annum to cater to growing domestic demand while strengthening its presence in international markets. The latest production milestone reinforces Maruti Suzuki’s position as India’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer and a key pillar of the country’s automotive industry.
