Blending muscular performance with luxury, advanced infotainment and comprehensive safety, the new Tata Harrier petrol raises the bar for intelligent toughness.

The Tata Harrier has always been known for its strong personality, but the newest petrol-powered version raises the bar with a blend of smart engineering, premium design, and future-ready technology. Built on the Land Rover–derived OMEGARC platform, the SUV carries a commanding stance at 4.6 metres and brings a true SUV feel with its upright posture and confident road presence.

At the heart of the new Harrier is Tata’s 1.5-litre Hyperion Turbo GDi petrol engine, delivering 170 PS and 280 Nm. Built with lightweight architecture, high-pressure direct injection, an electronically controlled turbocharger, and AI-based shift and launch assist, it offers improved power, sharper response, and improved fuel efficiency. The engine has undergone over 15 lakh km of real-road trials and more than 10,000 hours of test-bed evaluation across extreme conditions, ensuring durability and refinement. NVH levels are also significantly improved with a strengthened engine block, advanced acoustic materials, and quieter injectors. The petrol variants benefit from an 80 kg weight reduction, resulting in sharper and more agile driving dynamics. Driving through dense fog and bumper-to-bumper traffic for nearly 10 km, the SUV felt effortless to handle, keeping me calm and relaxed behind the wheel.

The cabin steps into a new league of luxury with an Oyster White and Titan Brown interior theme, finished with a dual-tone Titan-Wood dashboard and Benecke Kaliko leatherette seats. The Harrier also introduces a signature “Nitro Crimson” exterior shade and Lunar Graphite R18 alloy wheels that complete the upscale look.

Inside the Harrier, the focus shifts from driving to experiencing. The world’s first 36.9 cm Neo QLED automotive display by Samsung brings visuals to life, and the 10-speaker JBL Dolby Atmos audio system with a central subwoofer creates a rich, theatre-like soundscape that elevates every journey. It also brings in-built entertainment apps, a 360° surround camera with blind-view monitor, a digital IRVM with built-in dashcam, Alexa Home2Car and Car2Home connectivity, voice-controlled dual-zone climate, and Mappls navigation.

Comfort is enhanced through ventilated front seats, memory-linked Ergo Lux powered seats, winged rear headrests, sliding armrest, sunblinds, and a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof with mood lighting. Practicality is refined with a gesture-controlled powered tailgate and a ClearView dual-camera washer — a segment-first feature that keeps cameras clean in all weather.
Safety remains a major highlight. The Harrier is rated 5 stars by Bharat NCAP and is equipped with Advanced ESP (17 functions) and Level 2+ ADAS with 22 features, including adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, intelligent speed assist, blind-spot monitoring, and autonomous emergency braking.
With its powerful new engine, luxury, cutting-edge infotainment, and extensive safety suite, the new Tata Harrier blends toughness with intelligence like never before. It stands not just as an option with petrol powerhouse but as a confident leap into the future of premium SUVs.
