TVS NTORQ goes Hyper with Style and Speed

By T. Murrali

Barely a week after unveiling the Orbiter, TVS Motor turned heads again with the launch of the NTORQ 150, priced at ₹ 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom, all India). But this isn’t just another scooter; it’s the next chapter in a story that began in 2018.

When TVS first introduced the NTORQ, it was built with Gen Z in mind — young, ambitious riders who wanted performance, style, and technology in one machine. And it delivered. The NTORQ gave India its first 125cc scooter to cross 10PS of power with the Race XP, set new benchmarks in connectivity with the NTORQ XT, and even joined hands with Marvel for the iconic Super Squad edition.

Over the years, more than two million riders have chosen the NTORQ, making it one of India’s most loved performance scooters. Now, with the NTORQ 150, TVS has pushed the envelope further — bringing in hyper design, hyper performance, and hyper technology for a new generation that refuses to settle for less.

The next leap

Over time, Gen Z riders began asking for more — more speed, sharper design, and smarter technology. They wanted scooters that could match their fast-moving lifestyle. The OEM listened carefully and decided it was time to take a bold step forward. That’s how the NTORQ 150 was born — a machine the company claims to be India’s first Hyper Sport Scooter. The NTORQ 150 blends race-inspired performance, aggressive looks, and cutting-edge tech into one thrilling package.

At the launch, Mr. Gaurav Gupta, President of India 2W Business at TVS Motor Company, explained that the scooter was shaped by the experiences and feedback of riders themselves. “Combining performance, connectivity, and safety, the NTORQ 150 will delight customers and build even stronger love for the brand,” he said.

Adding to that, Mr. Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President at TVS, highlighted how over two million NTORQ riders and 50 active rider groups have shaped the scooter’s journey so far. “The NTORQ 150 is designed to meet the growing aspirations of Gen Z. With its hyper design, hyper performance, and hyper connected tech, it will thrill riders and strengthen the NTORQ brand even further,” he said.

Design inspired by speed and stealth

Speaking from design standpoint, Mr. Amit Rajwade, Vice President, Design, TVS Motor Company, said, the NTORQ 150 doesn’t just look sporty — it looks like it’s built to fly. Inspired by stealth aircraft, its sharp arrowhead shape shows up in bold front panels, broad shoulders on the fairing, and a tail that’s sleek and razor sharp. The lighting makes it stand out even more: a bold T-shaped tail lamp, four compact LED projectors, and turn indicators neatly blended into the design give it a modern, stealthy character.

A wide naked handlebar, switches that feel natural at fingertips, and a five-inch TFT screen that’s more like a gaming console than a scooter cluster. For the first time, the 2W maker has paired body colours with matching wheels, creating combinations that are bold, playful, and instantly recognisable. Race-inspired finishes, jet-like vents, integrated winglets, and premium textures complete the picture — making the NTORQ 150 as much a statement of style as it is of speed.

Redefining speed

But the NTORQ 150 isn’t just about how it looks. It’s powered by a 149.7cc O3CTech engine that produces 13.2 PS of power and 14.2 Nm of torque, taking it from 0 to 60 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. With a top speed of 104 km/h, it claims the title of India’s quickest scooter in its class.

Its chassis and steering have been tuned for precision, giving riders agility in traffic, confidence in corners, and stability at high speeds. The user can flip between Race Mode for highways and Street Mode for city traffic, while the iGo Assist Boost Mode gives an extra kick of power exactly when needed. Even the small touches — like adjustable brake levers and a premium four-way navigation switch — remind that this scooter is built with control and comfort in mind.

Safe, steady, and comfortable

The NTORQ 150 doesn’t just focus on thrills — it makes sure riders feel secure too. It’s the first scooter in its class to come with ABS and traction control, helping riders stay in control even during sudden stops or tricky roads. Features like crash and theft alerts, hazard lamps, emergency brake warning, and follow-me headlamps add extra layers of confidence, day or night.

On the comfort side, telescopic suspension smooths out rough patches, adjustable brake levers adapt to different riders, and TVS’s patented E-Z centre stand makes parking effortless. With 22 litres of under-seat space, there’s also plenty of room to carry everyday essentials.

Smart tech, smarter rides

But what really makes the NTORQ 150 stand apart is how smart it feels. Its five-inch TFT screen — inspired by gaming consoles — packs over 50 connected features through TVS SmartXConnect. Riders can track their journeys, check performance stats, or even ride incognito when they want privacy. Alexa and smartwatch connectivity keep them synced on the go, while over-the-air updates ensure the scooter keeps getting smarter over time. Offered in bold colours like Stealth Silver, Racing Red, Turbo Blue, and Nitro Green, the NTORQ 150 is more than just another scooter.
