Making its debut at the Automotive Garage Expo India, Mectron Engineering & Manufacturing Company is stepping into the domestic market with renewed confidence and a strong technological lineup. Although widely recognized for its overseas footprint, the company is now aiming to strengthen its presence across India, beginning with the fast-growing South Indian automotive aftermarket.
A Strategic First Appearance in India
For Mectron, participation in the event marks an important shift from export-focused operations to engaging directly with Indian distributors, garage owners, and industry buyers.
“This is the first time we are participating in Auto Expo for the Indian market.
We were mostly into overseas marketing earlier, and now we decided to explore
India firsthand,” said Thahir Mohammed, Overseas Manager, Mectron.

At the expo, Mectron introduced two important additions to its product portfolio. Leading the lineup is the company’s Twin Air Compressor, a newly launched model designed for improved efficiency and reliability. The company also highlighted its high-pressure washer equipped with an inbuilt PLC, providing automated cutoff capability and RFID-based monitoring for enhanced safety and precision.
South India: A Hub of Potential
Being headquartered in Coimbatore, Mectron understands the diverse and quality-driven nature of the South Indian market. With international buyers and trading companies also present at the event, the expo reaffirmed the region’s growing influence.

“Since we are a Coimbatore-based manufacturer, we see enormous potential here.
Many stalls are from outside India, and even international marketing professionals are visiting. This shows how strong and promising the Coimbatore market has become,” he stated.
Across both days of the expo, Mectron’s booth witnessed heavy footfall, particularly from trading companies and garage equipment dealers, an encouraging sign for a brand expanding its domestic channel.

“Most visitors, almost 90%, are from trading companies, which is a great opportunity for us. As manufacturers, we are focusing strongly on B2B business in India,” he shared.
Quality-Led Manufacturing Backed by Warranty Support
Known primarily as an export brand, Mectron emphasizes stringent quality checks to ensure that failures or post-sale issues remain minimal. Despite their confidence, the company still offers warranty coverage and support to its partners.
“We manufacture with a strong focus on quality. Being an export-oriented
brand, we can never compromise on quality. We are confident that there
won’t be after-sales issues, but even then, we offer a one-year warranty
for any rare manufacturing defects. Our support system is always ready,” he stated.
Southern Market Growth Plans
Looking ahead, Mectron plans to expand its presence by reinforcing its quality-first approach, something the company believes aligns well with customer expectations in South India.

“For the southern market, focusing on quality is more important than focusing on low prices. Southern customers always prefer quality and choose local manufacturers like those in Coimbatore. This proves that quality drives the market here, and we plan to continue strengthening our presence with that principle,” he concluded.
