Rajesh Rajgor discussed with Nikhil B, Deputy Managing Director of Madhus Garage Equipment Pvt. Ltd., about their partnership with Texa, a leading global provider of diagnostic tools, to introduce their products into the Indian automotive service market. Texa’s tailored tools for trucks, buses, and off-highway vehicles, designed for the Indian market, are set to capitalize on the growing demand post-warranty period for BS VI vehicles. Madhus plans an extensive dealer network, focusing on quality over quantity. The Texa TXT Bharat boasts user-friendly features, frequent updates, and unique functionalities like urea level measurement, making it a standout choice for the Indian market, supported by comprehensive training and after-sales services from Madhus.

Madhus Garage Equipment Pvt. Ltd. has partnered with Texa, a global leader in diagnostic tools, to revolutionize the Indian automotive service landscape. “Texa is the world leader in diagnostic tools,” said Nikhil B, Deputy Managing Director of Madhus Garage Equipment Pvt. Ltd. “They make a range of diagnostic tools for cars, bikes, marine vehicles, trucks, buses and off-highway vehicles.”

Despite Texa’s success in Europe, particularly with cars, they haven’t penetrated the Indian car segment significantly. However, their new line of on-board diagnostic tools for trucks, buses, and off-highway vehicles is tailored for the Indian market. Italy’s Texa, newest product, the Texa TXT Bharat, is a multi-brand vehicle diagnostic tool, paired with the IDC5 Bharat software interface, offering advanced diagnostics to Indian consumers.

“They have invested a lot of time, effort, and money in developing and pricing the Texa TXT Bharat for the Indian market,” Nikhil explained. “Over the past seven months, extensive testing has been conducted across hundreds of vehicles in India, led by Mr. Dayal Singh, who splits his time between Europe and India to ensure compatibility. Texa’s Product Manager, Mr. David Meneghetti and Mr. Dayal Singh visited India and showcased the tool to prospective dealers in Madhus training centres in Bangalore, Delhi and Pune. They also demonstrated the capabilities of the tool on an actual truck to show potential partners that the tool is ready and can really serve the Indian market”.

Madhus Distributing Texa Tools
Madhus will not sell these tools directly but will be the master distributor, appointing a network of dealers across India to reach end users. “The end user is typically a multi-brand workshop specializing in servicing trucks and buses,” said Nikhil. The tool is designed to work with BS VI compliant vehicles, allowing workshops to service multiple brands with a single tool.

The opportunity is significant as the first batch of BS VI trucks and buses are now out of their warranty period, meaning they will turn to the open market for service. “These vehicles are so advanced that the open market workshop will not be able to service them without this tool,” he noted. This creates a substantial market for Madhus and their dealer partners.

Madhus aims to have at least one dealer in each major Indian market, starting with around 20 to 25 dealers. “We are not interested in just adding dealers for the sake of it,” he stated. The official launch is expected in June, with manufacturing of the tool beginning in May. They anticipate selling 200 to 300 units annually, with growth expected.

Feedback from testing has been positive, with industry experts impressed by the tool’s capabilities, especially with the new generation of Cummins engines. Texa is committed to providing regular updates, a notable advantage over competitors. “Texa understands that the real success of this project will come if they continue to keep on adding new vehicles into the database,” Nikhil emphasized. Additionally, Texa offers competitive pricing, making the tool more affordable while maintaining superior quality. “Not only is it a better tool, it’s also going to undercut the competition,” he observed.

User-Friendly Features and Support
“The Texa IDC5 software is extremely easy to use, intuitive, and accessible to any technician with a basic understanding of English,” stated Nikhil. This user-friendly interface is a significant advantage, ensuring that even technicians with minimal training can efficiently use the tool.

Unlike traditional diagnostic tools, the Texa TXT Bharat requires no regular service intervals, making it a convenient and cost-effective option for workshops. The tool provides frequent updates, ensuring it remains compatible with the latest vehicle technologies. “TEXA’s frequent updates ensure that our tool remains a one-stop solution for all diagnostic needs,” he emphasized.

Training and after-sales support are integral to Madhus’ strategy. “Training will be provided to all users, with packages including physical training at our centers in Bangalore, Delhi, and Pune, as well as online support,” Nikhil explained. The dealers selected by Madhus will already have strong service networks, ensuring comprehensive support for customers. Madhus also offers higher-level support and acts as a liaison between dealers and Texa’s technical support in Italy.

Marketing efforts for the Texa TXT Bharat are robust, with Madhus handling all marketing activities. “Dealers simply need to sell the product; we take care of all marketing, including customized campaigns if needed,” Nikhil said. This support extends to ensuring that the tool covers all existing vehicles in the market, a critical performance metric for workshops.

One unique feature of the Texa TXT Bharat is its ability to measure the amount of urea in the engine, a functionality not available in competitor tools. “Experts have noted that the TXT Bharat’s ability to identify urea levels in the engine is a clear advantage over existing tools,” he pointed out. This feature, along with its comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, positions the TEXA TXT Bharat as a superior choice for the Indian market.

While customization for off-road vehicles like backhoe loaders and skid-steer loaders is still being extensively tested, the tool has shown promising results in preliminary trials. Madhus plans to showcase the Texa TXT Bharat at the Bauma Con Expo in December, highlighting its capabilities to prospective buyers and fleet operators.

Texa TXT Bharat, backed by Madhus’ extensive support and training, offers an unparalleled diagnostic solution for India’s automotive industry. With its user-friendly interface, frequent updates, and unique features, it is set to become an indispensable tool for workshops and fleet operators across the country.
