Kia India has unveiled an industry-first innovation in the country’s automotive sector with the rollout of Plant Remote Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. The feature will be available on Kia’s latest models equipped with the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) platform and enables vehicles to receive the latest software remotely before they leave the production plant.

The Plant Remote OTA capability ensures that every connected Kia vehicle reaches the customer with the newest features, updates, and security enhancements already installed—eliminating the need for manual updates at dealerships after delivery. This means buyers receive a vehicle that is software-ready the moment they take the keys.
Mr. Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said the feature reflects Kia’s commitment to raising the ownership experience through innovation. “By ensuring every vehicle leaves the plant with the latest software, we are redefining the ownership experience to be more seamless, intelligent, and future-ready,” he noted.
The technology leverages Controller OTA functionality and aligns with Connected Car System 2.0 (CCS 2.0) standards. Kia plans to integrate this feature across all future connected models, reinforcing the company’s vision of connected and intelligent mobility while allowing customers to access connected services instantly from day one.
