In a significant development for India’s trailer and logistics industry, BPW Trailer Systems India marked a major milestone; 500 trailer installations under a single customer, GreenLine Mobility. Rajesh Rajgor who attended the event believes that; this milestone is not just a numeric feat, but a strong validation of BPW’s commitment to delivering efficient, sustainable, and technologically advanced transport solutions tailored for India’s diverse and demanding logistics landscape.

“It’s a wonderful occasion for us,” said Nagaraj Ubale, Managing Director of BPW Trailer Systems India, expressing gratitude during the celebration. “What we’re doing here in India reflects BPW’s global approach-building a complete ecosystem of synchronized, future-ready transport solutions.”
When GreenLine decided to enter the green logistics segment, they knew it wouldn’t be a straightforward journey. “We had a couple of challenges to be taken care of,” shares Vijayakumar Velayutham, Chief Technology Officer & Director, Operations, GreenLine. “Since we wanted to go with a 4×2 vehicle, all our trailers had to be equipped with air suspension.” The team carried out a comprehensive evaluation of various axle and suspension options, ultimately choosing BPW after rigorous analysis of performance, reliability, and application versatility.

At the core of this achievement is the successful integration of BPW’s modular air suspension technology with LNG-powered tractor-trailers. GreenLine, a forward-looking logistics company committed to sustainability, has deployed 500 such trailers from various manufacturers like Tata DLT, Seamless, Garima, TESI, Vasant Fabricators, etc. all under one logistics umbrella. Each of these trailers features BPW’s state-of-the-art air suspension systems, built to withstand varied Indian terrains and applications.
“Today, we’ve brought all trailer manufacturers under one roof,” Nagaraj noted, highlighting the collaborative spirit that made this achievement possible. “It’s rare in India, and what makes it even more special is the shared vision for the future of logistics in India.”
Built for India’s Toughest Loads
“One of the key reasons we went with BPW was their wide application coverage-from steel and retail to mining and tankers,” adds Vijayakumar. GreenLine operates close to 80 vehicles in Hindustan Zinc mines alone and needed a partner who could support them across multiple use cases. “Some axles are good but not suitable for all applications. With BPW, we found a consistent fit across flatbeds, sidewalls, heavy and light-duty containers, and now tankers under fabrication.”

The trailers deployed are designed for multiple use-cases-cement, steel, bulk cargo, and express logistics-each requiring distinct performance capabilities. BPW’s modular air suspension solutions provide the flexibility to cater to such varied needs without compromising on reliability or efficiency. “Indian roads present unique challenges, from rough patches to highways,” Nagaraj explained. “That’s why our product range-from the SL series and HD to the ultra-HD and AirLight II -is designed specifically for Indian operating conditions.”
Beyond product range, after-sales support played a decisive role in GreenLine’s selection. “They’ve embedded themselves into our process. BPW certifies every installation at the trailer manufacturer’s end and has deployed service engineers and spare parts support at all our operational locations,” said Vijayakumar. This close integration has directly contributed to fleet reliability. “We’ve crossed 500 vehicles with BPW and not a single major breakdown so far. That’s huge in our business,” he emphasised.

The AirLight II, BPW’s latest innovation, is a lightweight suspension system with a 10-tonne capacity, engineered for high-speed express logistics like container and tanker applications. Still in the testing phase, this system aims to push the envelope of weight efficiency while maintaining structural integrity and safety.
“These technologies aren’t just engineered for comfort-they’re built for safe and efficient logistics,” Nagaraj added. “The AirLight II is our answer to the evolving needs of India’s fast-paced logistics industry.”
Proven on Road, Powered by Innovation
BPW’s suspension systems are supported by rigorous field testing, often spanning thousands of kilometers across the country’s diverse geography. These efforts ensure the components meet performance expectations under real-world conditions. “We pride ourselves on offering systems that are ‘tried and tested’ through extensive field validation,” another company representative noted.

Driver comfort has also seen a dramatic boost. “We’re giving AC cabins, ADAS, ABS, tyre monitoring systems-everything to ensure driver well-being and safe deliveries,” shared Vijayakumar. This focus has paid off, with vehicles now achieving between 7,000 to 13,000 kilometers per month. “Our aim is to average 12,000 kilometers per vehicle per month consistently,” he affirms, underscoring GreenLine’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability.
Digitization also forms a major pillar of BPW’s vision for future logistics. The company is actively working on integrating its running gear systems with digital telematics. This will enable operators to track vehicle health, optimize route planning, and pre-empt maintenance requirements-key factors in improving uptime and cost efficiency.
“As logistics becomes more complex, digital control over fleet movement becomes indispensable,” said Nagaraj. “We are planning to roll out telematics-integrated systems very soon.” The collaboration with GreenLine began in earnest in February 2023 and has since grown rapidly, symbolizing what can be achieved when technology and vision align.
“We started this journey when axle load regulations came into effect in 2018,” Nagaraj reflected. “From there, we’ve steadily moved to a point where air suspension is now a viable, even preferred, option for a wide range of applications.”
Today, those trailers are operational across India, running on mines, highways, cement routes, and steel corridors. It is a testament to the adaptability and reliability of BPW’s technology, and to GreenLine’s commitment to a greener, more efficient future for Indian freight. “With LNG-powered prime movers and BPW’s air suspension technology, we are truly seeing what the future of logistics in India looks like,” Nagaraj said. “This is green mobility in action.”
BPW’s air suspension systems also support sustainability by significantly reducing rolling resistance and enhancing fuel efficiency. Maintenance-free for up to 400,000 kilometers, the hub and bearing system reduces operating costs and downtime-a critical factor for logistics operators under pressure to deliver more with less.
“When we say ‘Green Ahead,’ it’s more than a slogan-it’s a strategy,” Nagaraj added. “Our systems are not just built for today, but for the green, efficient logistics ecosystem of tomorrow.”
Blueprint for Smarter, Sustainable Logistics
In a country where logistics is undergoing rapid transformation-shifting from fragmented practices to organized, tech-driven systems-BPW’s modular suspension systems offer both reliability and scalability. Whether it’s long-haul tankers or bulk cement trailers, BPW ensures every axle plays its part in building a more sustainable supply chain.
“The trust and confidence that GreenLine has shown by deploying 500 trailers is a validation of our product philosophy,” Nagaraj emphasized. “Durability, safety, and cost-efficiency aren’t just promises-they’re deliverables we’ve proven on ground.”
The BPW-GreenLine milestone serves as a blueprint for how OEMs, trailer manufacturers, and component suppliers can co-create solutions that are both technically superior and commercially viable. It reflects a growing consensus in the industry-sustainability and profitability are no longer mutually exclusive. “Our goal is simple,” Nagaraj concluded. “To build transport solutions that are smarter, cleaner, and more connected; and this milestone is just the beginning.”
