MG’s Most Rugged SUV Yet Rolls Off the Line in Halol

JSW MG Motor India has begun production of the MG Majestor at its manufacturing plant in Halol, Gujarat. The company is positioning the Majestor as India’s first vehicle in the D+ SUV segment — a step above the standard full-size SUV class — and describes it as its most capable and premium offering to date.

The Majestor is built around off-road performance. It comes with a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, a four-wheel drive system, and triple differential locks — a feature the company says is a first in its segment. These allow the driver to maintain traction and control across rough terrain, mud, and uneven surfaces.

On the ownership side, MG is offering what it calls a 5-5-5 package: a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance, and five labour-free services.

“With the Majestor, we are bringing together strong engineering, advanced capability and a commanding presence, aligned to the evolving expectations of customers. We are confident it will resonate strongly with customers looking for both capability and refinement in their next SUV,” Mr. Biju Balendran, Deputy Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said.

The Halol plant, which has produced several MG models since the brand entered India, will manufacture the Majestor using what the company describes as precision engineering processes and stringent quality checks.

Bookings are open at ₹41,000 on mgmotor.co.in. Early customers will get priority delivery slots, exclusive preview events, and curated test drives ahead of the public launch. A price announcement is yet to be made.
