SRM Institute of Science and Technology, a multidisciplinary university accredited with A++ by NAAC, recognised as a Category I institution with 12B status by UGC/MoE, has achieved a remarkable milestone as its student motorsport team, Team Camber Racing, raced to the National Championship title at Formula Bharat 2026, delivering one of the most dominant performances in the competition’s history.

The team excelled across every major dynamic and static event, securing first place in Endurance, Skidpad, Autocross, Acceleration, Engineering Design, Fuel Economy, and Sustainability & Best Practices. In addition, the team’s driver earned the Best Driver Award, showcasing not only technical innovation but exceptional on-track skill and discipline.
This sweeping victory reflects the technical depth, preparation rigour, and collaborative spirit of SRMIST’s student community. Team Camber Racing was jointly mentored by Dr. Leenus Martin, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Dr. K. Kamalakannan, Head, Department of Automobile Engineering, SRMIST.

The championship-winning team was led by Mr. Himanshu Kumar, Captain and final-year student of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Supporting him were:
