Global Reach and Local Innovation: BMGE 2025 Celebrates Industry Growth

The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) has set a new benchmark with the latest edition of Bharat Mobility Global Expo (BMGE) – The Components Show, reflecting the rapid transformation of the industry into a technology-driven sector. The event, hosted at a sprawling 70,000 sq. m. venue, brought together over 1,000 participants, demonstrating the industry’s strength, confidence, and resilience.

Speaking to MOTORINDIA, Vinnie Mehta, Director General of ACMA, expressed his pride in the industry’s progress. “Today, we are a very strong, capable, and confident industry. The show is a pure reflection of that transformation. ACMA’s membership has grown from 800 two years ago to over 1,000 today, and we have 1,051 participants this year. This growth symbolizes how ACMA and the industry are evolving together,” he remarked.

A Celebration of Progress

The event’s inauguration set the tone for what Vinnie described as “a festival and a celebration.” He highlighted the overwhelming turnout of industry leaders even before the official start of the show, reflecting the strong bonds within the ACMA community. “The huge number of leaders who turned out demonstrates their confidence in ACMA and their love and affection for the community. It’s very special and shows how formidable and close-knit we are,” he said.

The show featured two expansive halls and two hangars, housing exhibits showcasing cutting-edge innovations. Despite challenges related to infrastructure, Vinnie noted the impressive scale of the event. “We have two huge halls covering 50,000 sq. m. and, including the hangars, the total space is 70,000 sq. m. This is the largest-ever Auto Component Show,” he shared.

A Global Platform

This year’s show underscored its global relevance with participation from 31 countries, including delegations from Nepal, Japan, Spain, and several other European nations. “The presence of five international pavilions and participants from countries like the US, Israel, and Spain showcases our global outreach. Displaying the flags of participating nations adds color and communicates our expanding connections,” he noted.

The event also introduced new initiatives to enhance engagement. “For the first time, we’ve included a service for media briefings by companies. With 30-40 slots already booked, it’s a packed schedule, reflecting the enthusiasm and innovation within the industry,” he explained.

Focusing on Technology and Aspiration

Vinnie emphasized the pivotal role of technology in shaping the future of the auto component industry. “The competition of the future will be fought on technology. To remain competitive, we must continue investing in it. This show is a testament to our commitment to positioning the industry as a technology-driven sector,” he stated.

He also urged the industry to be more ambitious, highlighting the need for a bolder approach. “While we are doing well, I believe the industry is a bit conservative. We need to be more risk-oriented and aim much higher. Our aspiration should align with the vision of achieving $100 billion in exports, as proposed by our leaders,” he added.

A Promising Horizon

Despite global geopolitical challenges, Vinnie expressed confidence in India’s positioning on the world stage. “India has played its cards very smartly, and the world is looking eagerly at us. These tailwinds present an opportunity to achieve our aspirations,” he concluded.

The ACMA Auto Component Show continues to be a cornerstone event, reflecting the evolution of the Indian auto component industry and its journey toward technological excellence and global leadership.
